Cody and Scott had their first encounter with the media. While they were in a shoe store in Abilene, the manager got talking to them and found out what they were doing. The next thing they knew, there was a news van pulling up! Cody said he had contemplated throwing his jeans in the trash that morning, they were so dirty-- they were definitely not camera-ready! (As Scott pointed out, it could of been worse-- he could have been wearing sweat pants!) The reporter, Maria, talked to them for quite a while, and they were on the evening news! Cody made a plug for his fundraising efforts for Doctors Without Borders-- hopefully the folks in Abilene will help him raise money for that worthy cause.
